Q. What do you think the difference is in the draws today?

Q. The difference in being in half of the draw.

ROCCO MEDIATE: Oh, it's good. I like playing a lot of golf in a row, so we are going to do that today. Even though I'm old I can still get around a little bit.

Q. You're back because of today.

Q. Well, yeah.

ROCCO MEDIATE: Don't look so surprised. No, it's great. I love this type of golf. I've been saying I've been hitting my ball just fine, for about eight months, I haven't made a score at all and I just hoped I could keep hitting good and so far, so good today. You can do that.

68 does a lot of good at one of those events. Doesn't do a lot of good at some of our events on TOUR, though.

Q. Do you still draw on Torrey?

ROCCO MEDIATE: Oh, every day I play. It was the heat of all ‑‑ it was the coolest thing ever. It was the most intense thing ever. So coming in, I really wanted to finish it off good today, and I did. So I knew I could, because I did it before. So no reason. I love this golf course. It's fantastic.

Q. How's your back?

ROCCO MEDIATE: Back's fine, no problem.

Q. How many times did you hear your name out there today?

ROCCO MEDIATE: About 4 million. Unbelievable out there today, it was great, absolutely fantastic.

Q. Were you able to be more aggressive because of the way the conditions are?

ROCCO MEDIATE: Yeah, absolutely. You're not used to seeing Opens this wet. You can carry the ball back in. It's still dangerous. Rough is still high enough, but you have to drive it, I do, at least, have to drive it in these fairways. The couple fairways I missed, I hit it in the bunkers, which is great because I can't move it out of that rough.

It's just, still, at the end of the week, right around par is going to be sweet.

Q. What you saw out here yesterday, is it considerably better?

ROCCO MEDIATE: I didn't think they could get it done by 7:30. And absolutely, I had a couple ‑‑ I think we all had a couple of mud balls. I had a bought on 13, 7‑iron curved 30 yards to the left, but that's going to happen.

But it's unbelievable condition, I still can't believe it. They say it will rain tomorrow, but you never know, it might miss.

Q. Easy to make your way around this course compared to Torrey?

ROCCO MEDIATE: If you drive it in the fairway, it's still ‑‑ I'm hitting a lot of long clubs, I hit a bunch of 3‑ and 4‑irons and my Callaway hybrid club into three or four greens today. But like I said the other day, they will hold that right now. They will hold that.

Q. You've got a muni course, people talk about 50 bucks a round, people have played this golf course before; is this just the perfect thing for golf right now?

ROCCO MEDIATE: Absolutely. Absolutely is. And in 2002, it was the first time we came to a non‑private course, I guess you would say, and people are fantastic here, fantastic. Nothing wrong going on here. I just hope we get to play three more days without this stuff or two more, however many days, I don't even know what day it is.

I love that, you can call it an advantage I guess, but I like to keep going. I don't mind having to do that, because I'll probably get in another nine holes, which is great, so tomorrow early we'll get nine more and who knows what will happen.

Q. I know the greens are soft but are they putting faster than you thought?

ROCCO MEDIATE: They are a minimum 12, I think. They are probably a little faster than that in spots but you can still be aggressive.
